Happy Valentines Day?

I have never been one to make a big deal out of Valentines Day. For some reason, it just doesn't appeal to me. i have a wonderful husband, and even he doesn't understand why i don't like V-day so much. even i don't know, it just seems like a waste of time to me. James is wonderful and makes sure i know how much he loves me every day, i don't feel the need for gifts, we usually just go out to dinner.

so the point to this story is that, i think it is a good thing i do not like valentines day. reason?
On saturday, february 14, i took ethan down to put him in the car to go on a trip to wal-mart (i wanted to check out prices on a Flip video camera). as i am buckling him into the seat, i look at the floor on the car and notice that there is this black stuff all over the floor. my first thought was that james had spilled a bunch of gravel in my car...not happy....then i looked at the window and it was buste. my second thought, crap something hit my window!...still not happy....then i look into the front seat and realize that my glove compartment is open and my purse and wallet are gone!!....incredibly unhappy!!!

so someone broke into my car while it was parked in my carport...they took my Coach bag (the only one i've ever owned, i got it for my bday last year), my wallet with all my cards in it, my camera bag with a Nikon lens in it, ipod, GPS, bluetooth, 2 vintage video cameras, a columbia fleece, and Ethan's diaper bag.

not a good valentines day!

on the other hand, Ethan got a T-ball set from his grandparents for V-day and for the last two days, this is what he has been doing...

Growing up so fast!

Sometimes i forget how fast kids grow up...ethan apparently decided today that i needed reminding that he is becoming a big boy all too rapidly!!

we spent the morning playing outside, as it is almost 70 degrees in FEbruary and we had to take advantage after weeks of cold! when we came in for lunch, i was fixing lunch and ethan was playing around, finally he called me into the dining room and pointed to the table. i asked him if he wanted to eat at the table (we always eat picnic-style in the living room), and he said "Yay!" (that is his answer to yes, it is probably the cutest thing ever!). so he ate his lunch, sitting calmly in a regular chair at the dining room table.

Next, i fixed my lunch and was cleanign the kitchen while it was heating up. he was going down his list of people that he knows (he always wants to know what they are doing "right now") and then all of a sudden stood up and said "mama, poo poo". i said, ethan did you poo? (this always gets a grinning shake of the head no) and he said, once again, "yay!". i sniffed and sure enough there it was! and then he laid down for me to change his diaper (this is an ongoing battle every day, i swear he is usually content to be in a dirty diaper!). such a big boy! i suppose potty training will start soon!

we finally sit down for me to eat lunch and i turned on scooby doo, which is his calm down time right before nap...i ate, then pulled him into my lap to finish the episode. after a few minutes, his head rolled to the side and i realized he was asleep...sort of...so i asked him (with his eyes barely open) did he want to go take a nap...he shook his head no and i asked if he wanted to keep watching scooby doo and i get a very groggy "yay." it was hilarious. i had to try not to shake him too much with my laughter! so after a few minutes, he really was asleep and i took him to bed.

His ridiculously cute antics made today a day to remember!
